Synopsis

A disgraced forensic accountant uncovers a decades-old fraud in a dying mill town — and realizes the cover-up is still very much alive.

When Mara Voss is sent to audit the books of a shuttered textile mill in rural Ontario, she expects a straightforward insolvency. What she finds instead is a paper trail that leads back to a 1987 fire that killed eleven workers — and a local power structure that has spent thirty years making sure no one asks the right questions. The Long Way Down is a film about institutional silence, the cost of knowing, and what it means to finish something you were never supposed to start.
