Remember Ivy Court

Synopsis

A grieving Indian man flees to the Houston suburbs for a fresh start — and discovers the house he bought to rebuild his family remembers everything. And it never forgets.

Nikhil has fled India for the Houston suburbs, desperate for a fresh start after the death of his infant daughter shattered his family. Two years later, his wife Sangeeta and son remain in India, unable to move past their grief. Hoping to entice them to join him in America, Nikhil buys a sprawling suburban home and throws himself into renovating it. But soon he begins hearing footsteps, voices, televisions turning on by themselves. At first he suspects loneliness, culture shock, even an intruder. Then he realizes the truth: the house is watching him. More than that, it remembers. The home begins replaying fragments of its own traumatic past — sounds, apparitions, and eventually people, including a teenage boy stalking the halls with a shotgun. As Nikhil uncovers the history of murder, suicide, and buried violence within its walls, he comes to understand that the house relives its trauma just as he relives his own. Determined to cleanse it, Nikhil attempts a Hindu puja with the help of his eccentric neighbour. But the house fights back. Its memories become flesh and blood, and Nikhil is forced to confront both the horrors buried in the home and the guilt he has carried across an ocean — because the house never forgets.
